is the Smart Growth Locator?
The Smart Growth Locator provides an answer to the question: Is this address in a Smart Growth Area? By inputting a street address, the user will be told whether the address is in a Smart Growth location or not. This information can be used to determine whether an address is eligible for a number of State programs. Specific information about program eligibility can be found in the Program Eligibility section of the NJHMFA Locator. To learn more about Smart Growth or the areas that are included in the Smart Growth Area, click the links. For additional information about Smart Growth, contact the Office of Smart Growth. For questions on how to obtain HMFA Smart Start downpayment and closing cost assistance, please call 1-800-NJHOUSE. What is the Census Tract Data Locator?
The Census Tract Data Locator tool provides census information for a New Jersey address. The following information is provided:
- Census
Tract Number
- Census
Block Group Number
- Specific
social, economic, and housing data (Census 2000) at the
Block Group, Tract, Municipality and County Level
The user may use the census block group or tract number to conduct further census-based research at the US Census Bureau. For more information about this tool, contact Deepa Rajashekhara at 609-278-7613.
- What
is Aerial Mapping?
The Aerial Mapping feature enables you to view any New Jersey address from an overhead aerial view for the year 2002. The ability to zoom in or out and pan the surrounding area is provided. The user has the ability to overlay other relevant, predefined geographic information (i.e. roads, municipality borders, etc.) on the aerial photographic image. The aerial mapping tool can be used to more accurately evaluate the placement of an entered address. Use the Aerial Mapping tool to select a specific place by using the mailbox tool at the top of the map, then clicking on the building or location. You are then able to switch to other tools in the NJHMFA Locator using the site-specific address. For more information about the underlying aerial map, please see the information provided by the NJ Office of GIS.
- What
is the Planning Area Locator?
The Planning Area Locator will enable you to determine the Planning Area Designation (i.e. Metropolitan Planning Area, Pinelands, Highlands) for any address in New Jersey. The New Jersey State Plan is an inter-agency coordination between the State Planning Commission, the Office of Smart Growth (OSG) and various other state agencies. Some agencies and organizations determine program eligibility based on State Planning designation. For information on those requirements, click on the agency icon at the bottom left of the screen.
- What
is the Program Eligibility Locator?
The Program Eligibility Locator will enable you to determine if an address qualifies for a number of NJHMFA programs based on specific location criteria. These programs are designed to assist a consumer in the purchase of a home or to provide financing to a developer for the production of affordable housing. Please return to the NJHMFA Home Page for more information on consumer or developer programs, along with program contact information.
